Craft Blog

I think I've decided (just this instant while I was watching TV) to start a CRAFT BLOG. I've tried keeping craft binders and craft notebooks, but I'm just not very good at it. So I think I'm going to start a craft blog as a place to keep track of things I want to make and things I have made (hopefully with photos of the things I have made).  I could go back and take photos of things like the uber impressive knitting bag I made.  It's more like a knitting supply tank than a bag, but it's great.  The idea came after I had the quick idea to make a crafting tool belt - something like an apron where I can keep my pens and scissors and glue sticks when I'm scrap booking.  I can keep my pencils and scissors and thread in it while I quilt.  I can keep my tape measure, my scissors, my pattern and pens, and my other knitting needles I need in it while I'm knitting.  Now I just need to figure out how to make that apron-thing.  Shouldn't be too hard.  B...

Pepe

The Friends of Pepe Blog has ended. I'm sad to see it go, because I'm hooked on her story, and these CF stories become my stories. They are what could happen to me - and I want to know how they end. Pepe is very sick and post-transplant a little more than a month. They are recommending a second lung transplant because the pneumonia in her new lungs is just too bad. I want to know what she decides, what she does, and how it turns out. I know that there is a good chance she could die waiting for this second pair of lungs - she was essentially dead when they did the first transplant. I didn't think she'd make it this far... but now I'm deeply saddened that I won't know how our story ends. This is what I wrote on the last post: This has already been said by many times, and I'm sure another CFer has already commented, but FOP, we're sad to see you go. Gina, we hope you continue forward and it only gets better from here. I hope if I am ever as sick as ...

The Third Blog and Things I Didn't Admit Publicly

I am thinking about starting a third blog. It's where I will write about my life if I didn't have CF - or the life I want, or the life I have but would prefer my friends and family don't read about. I would write things like, "It's 11:35 and I just got home from work, but at least the tips are good." I could write about things that have happened to me like dealing with the fat man with the little penis. These are just stories I'm not comfortable writing in this blog - my most honest blog (since the other one that exists is a travel blog...). I'm timid and not quite sure how people would react to true entries like the one I thought of on Sunday. I'm going to be brave and write what I wanted to write. Here it is, The Things I Didn't Admit Publicly. Ray, my 400 pound nurse, was here. He is a special human being, the kind that brags about the 38 guns he owns. And that doesn't include the handguns. He's an Obama basher and girl watcher...

Bubble Baths and Insect Porn

Tonight I had a splendid bubble bath and a good political conversation. We'll leave it up to you to decide whether they were at the same or different times. I feel really good after my bubble bath. I got all the salt off my skin from being outside so much. One good thing about the salt loss that occurs in CF is it ends up on my skin and then acts as an awesome exfoliant. My skin is all soft and silky and I love it. I also found a website - the Sundance Channel - with insect porn by Isabella Rosalini. I found the like at http://formerlyfun.blogspot.com . I know I linked that in my last post too, but she has some really great stuff. You can find the insect link there. It's probably easier than me looking it up again. I feel really good with my silky skin and my self-esteem boost. Yesterday I was made the bad guy in a nasty situation where the guy cheated on his girlfriend with me - and she thinks it's my fault. She blamed everything on me, and wouldn't listen to ...

Alright, Midnight

Today was a bad day. One of my worst in a long time. I honestly couldn't get out of bed until this evening. I woke up around 7:30 and finally felt okay. I'm hoping that I'll sleep well tonight and then have a better day tomorrow. The movie I went to see was good - but the ending was confusing. I am now a huge fan of the WI film festival. We all know how much I love movies. Tomorrow will be exciting because I get to see my Sarah!!! Only to grab a bite as she passes through town, but at least I get to see her! God today was awful. I don't know why but I'm in a considerable amount of pain - joints and things, and that level of uncomfortable-ness is just enough that I can't do much. I had a really hard time walking to and from the theater this evening, but I didn't want to say anything to my friend because it was raining and I too wanted to arrive quickly. But it made me think about Italy and how many times I'm going to have to say "Slow the fu...

OH. MY. GOD.

Tricia is getting her new lungs!!! I can't believe it!!! I'm so happy for them... I follow their blog religiously (it's a link on the side of my blog) and I love them to death!!! SOOOO Much Good News In One Week!!! April is turning out to be a FABULOUS month so far!!! Please PRAY for Tricia and her donor family - pray that the transplant goes well, complication free and that the donor family finds solace in the fact that they are saving her life - the life of a wonderful woman, a woman who is a brand new mother. What a perfect end to today!!! I'm doing the "Tricia's Getting New Lungs" Dance!!!

Hey, I know her!
