You Can Never Get What You Want

I am inspired by songs. I always have been. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones has always played a big part in my life. It's a very important song to my family, especially to me and my father. I think we are the sentimental ones. When I was a senior in high school I had to choose a quote to put under my picture in the yearbook. Out of all the songs I knew, for what I was going through at the time the lyrics to "You Can't Always Get What You Want" seemed most appropriate. I couldn't fit all I wanted, so I chose, "But if you try sometime, you might just find You get what you need." I think of that quote a lot - especially when I am sad or have a bad day. I try and think if I have what I need. If I do, then I try and let the things I want go. I try and focus on what I really need - my family, my friends, and my lungs. I try and tell myself that when I lose one of those things then it is time to worry. But so...

My music addiction just got MUCH worse... I found NOW 71 (the UK is way ahead of the US here...) and my brain may die a happy little death!

Song Lyrics for my Soul

Here is me describing misc. situations that I've been in recently and the song lyrics I've used to help me. I love these lyrics. I'm not sure I want to talk about what I associate this with, but maybe you can guess: "Building a Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan You woke up screaming aloud A prayer from your secret god You feed off our fears And hold back your tears, oh Give us a tantrum And a know it all grin Just when we need one When the evening's thin You're a beautiful A beautiful fucked up man You're setting up your Razor wire shrine Cause you're working Building a mystery Holding on and holding it in Yeah you're working Building a mystery And choosing so carefully *** This one, too, is something I may not want to talk about. I listen to this song all the time, and sometimes I just listen and cry. It's August. It has been eight years, Ladybug - how have we survived without you? This song has a million meanings to me. And sometimes, I kn...

Music and evening thinklings

Music is my life. I love to play the piano. I loved the clarinet - still would play it often if it didn't ruin my sinuses. I have listened to music my entire life. I spend my life on my computer, mostly with music playing. I always listen to music in my car - all kinds of music. I was raised with music and I have this strange ability to know all the lyrics to many, many songs. It's a strange, strange talent. That's why shows like, "Don't forget the lyrics" are fun for me. I just know the lyrics. Now here are the things that are running through my head: *my social worker is amazing, and I'm so excited to be on the Patient Advisory Board here at the hospital, because of all the people on the board, I have the most experience with this hospital. I've been coming here since I was three years old. I'm also excited to work with him on the CF quality of life study this summer. Awesome. *how do I deal with jealousy? I want to be happy for Boy and...
