Labor of Love

I have mentioned my brother, Darin, is staying with me. He didn't get a summer internship, but has a camp counselor job later in the summer. Until he leaves, he is living with and taking care of me. Before my sinus surgery we did some cleaning and laundry. By "we," I mean "he did the work and I barked the orders." I barked out where to put away all the things I had in my suitcases, where to put clean laundry, how to load the dishwasher, how much water to put in my glass, and how to pour my weekly meds. I sure will miss him when he leaves. The main reason I'm writing about my brother today is because he's amazing. My surgery was figuratively and literally painless. I checked in about 1/2 hour early and was taken to my room right away. Darin and Mom were both very good, but especially Darin. I'm used to Mom taking care of me and doing things for me before and after surgery, but I'm not used to having my little brother there. Darin did wonde...

Two Surgeries

I have to have TWO surgeries now this summer/early fall. Sinuses and Wisdom Teeth. Not sure how all of this is going to go, or how it will affect the dancing. *le sigh*

Still Doin' Good

I'm home, and actually got some stuff done today. It was too hot and humid for me to go to the Concert on the Square (which normally would have really bummed me out), but I accepted that it's one thing I have to give up to make sure that I stay healthy until my surgery. I have to do it for my health. I invited people over, but no one came - which is understandable because Concert on the Square is a big deal. So I caught up on some of my TV shows and took a nap, and watched more TV. This weekend is going to be so busy - I hope I can handle it. This blog is so boring. I hope you stop reading now for the sake of your own mental health. I'll let you know when I have something good to say. The end.

All I Want is You

"If I was a flower growing wild and free All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee. And if I was a tree growing tall and green All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves" I love that song. It's from the Juno Soundtrack. So today I went to the ENT and had my CT scan. The nurse brought it up on the computer before the doc came in and I was able to look at it before he came in. I already knew that none of my sinuses have any air in them - they are full of gunk. So I need surgery - but since I'm not currently in a ton of pain, I can wait until the end of August to have my surgery. Yay. I'm scared to have my surgery in the middle of summer because the recovery time is so long and I really want to get my redecorating project done. I know to get it done, I'll probably need help, but I'll figure that out later. Last summer when I had my surgery, I had my ex. He sat with my mom and brother waiting for me to come out of surgery, and he was th...

Alright, Midnight

Today was a bad day. One of my worst in a long time. I honestly couldn't get out of bed until this evening. I woke up around 7:30 and finally felt okay. I'm hoping that I'll sleep well tonight and then have a better day tomorrow. The movie I went to see was good - but the ending was confusing. I am now a huge fan of the WI film festival. We all know how much I love movies. Tomorrow will be exciting because I get to see my Sarah!!! Only to grab a bite as she passes through town, but at least I get to see her! God today was awful. I don't know why but I'm in a considerable amount of pain - joints and things, and that level of uncomfortable-ness is just enough that I can't do much. I had a really hard time walking to and from the theater this evening, but I didn't want to say anything to my friend because it was raining and I too wanted to arrive quickly. But it made me think about Italy and how many times I'm going to have to say "Slow the fu...
