End of 2008 ... Because I like to Reflect

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
*Had to be on O2 24/7. That was scary. But I got better and now don't need any.
*Went to Venice, Florence and Rome :-D
*Vacay with just Darin and Dad
*Raised more money for Great Strides than I ever had before

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
*I usually refuse to make New Years' Resolutions because the disappointment of breaking them is hard.
*I resolve to define myself so that I am comfortable telling people about my life. Am I a professional patient? Retired? Doing whatever the fuck I want so that I will be happy? Being lazy? I have no idea right now, but my goal is to become comfortable meeting new people and talking to old friends.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
*Yes!!! Kyra and Chris. I was so blessed to be there, and am so blessed to be Auntie Carla to my little Luca!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
*Great-Aunt Emma
*Troy
*Laura
*Janel
*I got some great Angels this year. And I will never forget the Angels I have gained throughout my life.

5. What countries did you visit?
*France (for about an hour)
*Germany
*Austria
*Italy
*Switzerland

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
*A little more luck with my health. Not starting out on O2 is a plus. Let's not gain something else like endometriosis... I'm done with new diseases.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
*June 8th - we left for Europe.
*October 14th - LUCA WAS BORN!!!
There were some sad things that happened this year - but I try not to remember exact dates

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
*Raising more money for Great Strides
*Surviving Europe

9. What was your biggest failure?
*I try not to judge myself by failures

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
*Yes, yes I did.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
*Stuff from IKEA!

*Bills.

*Writing? Not really though, I tend to enjoy myself.

*With the Fam. Already celebrated with Chris, Kyra and Luca!

*Kinda... but, um, let's not talk about it.

*Every. Single. British. NOW. I died and went to music heaven.

*ON the day? I saw my therapist. I tried to forget the rest of the day. I was 22.

Me and Trinity: What a cutie! Chest PT on a baby: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation discourages any contact among CF patients. Personally, I think this is overreacting at its best. Yes, some precautions need to be taken, but it has been blown totally out of proportion. I am writing this because the other night at Concert on the Square I held Trinity. Her mom handed her over to me, and we were talking and then she told me that Trinity has CF. I asked if I should take precautions and her mom said that it was okay for me to interact with her - and I feel that as long as the parent says it's okay, it's okay with me. And I did her chest pt - and it was a nice break for the parents. They have three children under three and two of them have CF. Change of Plans

I had my weekend all planned out, and all I had to do was last through it. I knew that was going to be hard when I realized how bad my lungs were on Tuesday. Dancing was nearly impossible. Yesterday and today I have worked hard to get things ready for the benefit tomorrow night - and I called clinic and we arranged for me to be admitted on Saturday. We'll see if I make it to the elections or not. I'd like to, but maybe it's pointless. I think I'll call clinic tomorrow and ask them to see if my room could be ready by, oh, 10 am or something like that. That way, maybe by evening I'll have some antibiotics running. *le sigh*. I'm doing this by myself. I and Mom decided that she can come down later in the week if I need her - which I might. Right now, I'm pretty fucking sick. A word about my sinuses

Ow. (Note, this is not a complaint. I am simply stating that I am currently in a state of pain.) WARNING: EXTREME AMOUNTS OF SARCASM AHEAD. Even though the pain is so bad I can barely stay awake, I am still able to run and jump and sing and dance (because, DUH I'm addicted to running and can't stop... I LOVE my lungs and all they do for me!) and I will be doing a marathon soon, so watch for that. I will be DANCING the marathon, and singing the whole way. What do you think, should I sing Hannah Montana??? And High School Musical??? Whadda ya think??? And since the only thing that seems to help the pain are my migraine pills, I will be popping them like candy. I will put them in rolls and eat them like Smarties. Mmmm Migraine Smarties.
